MUNRO TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
September 9, 2003

PRESENT:  Antkoviak, Ginop, Dotski, Tracy and Haig

OTHERS PRESENT: Jackie Burnett, Paul Nows, Garry Murphy, Ron Wheelock, Richard Buehler, Wil Mandrick, Don Rader, Ed Ginop, Rich and Holly Gedert.

Meeting was called to order by Antkoviak at 7:30 p.m. at the Munro Township Hall.

Pledge to the flag was recited.

Clerk read the minutes of August 12, 2003 meeting.

A motion by Haig, supported by Tracey to accept the minutes as read.  Motion carried.

Mr. Garry Murphy presented to the board his land division application to divide his two lots 51 and part of lot 52 on Silver Strand Road, into three lots..  Haig made a motion to accept the three splits in lot 51 and part of lot 52.  Don second the motion. All favored saying “Aye”, motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS:

Tax Tribunal- George Quick wants to pay his tax bill.

Tax Tribunal Munro Twp. Versus the Pipe line.  Antkoviak said the State Tax Tribunal has to figure out who has jurisdiction.

Tracey made the motion to pay the bills amounting to $3,762.36. Haig supported the motion.  Motion carried.

Wil Mandrick reported that the next Watershed Meeting will be held Dec. 5th at the University of Michigan Biological Station at Douglas Lake.

Spray’s Plumbing & Heating presented a bill for service work on the hall furnace. The invoice stated that the furnace had a cracked heat exchanger.  Paul Nows said if the heat exchanger is cracked, the furnace needs to be replaced.  Ginop will check with Spray’s before paying the bill.

Jeff Reimann, Dale Dotski, & Antkoviak cut down the tree in the cemetery and hauled away the brush. Cost was $500.00.

Next year a smaller trash barrel will be placed at the park.  Trash pickup will be stopped as of September 30, 2003.

Ginop Construction filled in the pond at the fire hall.  The fire department did not want the liability of a pond. The Inverness Fire Dept. wants a 20,000 gal. tank buried behind the fire hall for the purpose of filling the fire trucks.  Ginop reported that St. Anthony’s Church in Mackinaw City may be pulling a 10,000 fuel tank in the near future.  Ed Ginop will find out when and if it’s in good condition to use for the fire hall.

The property owner who built in the wet land on Munro Lake has put a deck on his blocks.  Wil Mandrick asked if any building permits have been issued.  Antkoviak will check with the construction code office.

Paul Nows asked if Antkoviak talked to the road commission about extending the culvert for Silver Strand Road. Antkoviak said he forgot.

Haig  made a motion to adjourn, Dotski second the motion. Meeting was adjourned  at 8:00 p.m.
