MUNRO TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
December 9, 2003

PRESENT: Antkoviak, Ginop, Dotski, Tracey, Haig
OTHERS PRESENT: Walter Nows, Paul Nows, Wil Mandrick, Don Rader

Supervisor Antkoviak called the meeting to order at 7:30 at the fire hall.

Pledge to the flag was recited.

A motion was made by Tracey, supported by Haig, to approve the November 11, 2003 minutes.

Two cemetery lots were sold to Edward and Susan O'Dwyer of Douglas Lake.

CORRESPONDENCE:
Enbridge Energy vs. Munro Township is at the Michigan Tax Tribunal for personal property tax hearing. Several townships that have a pipeline going through their district is fighting the property tax assessments.

The Michigan DEQ granted John Tanton of Douglas Lake a permit to place rock rip rap on the shoreline of his property.

Antkoviak reported there were about 25 principal residences being challenged for homestead status. The homestead exemption is now being called principal residence.

Tracey made the motion to pay the monthly bills amounting to $3,292.71, supported by Dotski, motion carried.

Ginop said the state is cutting the State Revenue Sharing money. The township is getting less money from the sales tax; the cuts are really affecting the township budget.

Haig made the motion to adjourn the meeting, supported by Tracey. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
