MUNRO TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
May 8, 2007
Munro Township Hall, 7:30 p.m.

PRESENT:

Antkoviak, Ginop, Dotski, Tracey and Mandrick.

OTHERS PRESENT:

Jackie & Quinter Burnett, Frank Spezia, Paul Now, Walter Nows, George Bliss, Patricia and Keith Sipperley, Edward Ginop, Keith Ginop, Earl and Debbie Marx.

Supervisor Antkoviak called the meeting to order with the pledge to the flag.

MINUTES:

A motion by Tracey, supported by Mandrick to accept the April 10, 2007 meeting minutes. Motion carried.

BILLS:

A motion by Tracey, supported by Dotski to pay the monthly bills amounting to $22,227.99. Motion carried.

CORRESPONDENCE:

  1. ABC Recycling owned by Wayne Duffiney, wants to start up a recycling program in Cheboygan.
  2. Cheboygan County Road Commission sent their new operating budget.
  3. Prices on brine are 9 cents per gallon and chloride is 45 cents per gallon for dust controlling roads.

CEMETERY:

There will be a work bee at the cemetery on Thursday, May 17th at 4:30 p.m. There will be a pot luck dinner afterwards at the township hall. Everyone is invited, please bring your own rakes, mowers and shovels.

Antkoviak reported that the township can not accept a contract from Charlie's Lawn Service because Charlie Buehler is only 16 years old. If his Father, Richard Buehler wants to cut the grass, the township will accept another contract.

Tracey reported that all the trees planted last spring are growing except one pine. Spray's Nursery will replace the dead tree.

CLEAN UP DAY:

The annual clean up day in Munro Township will be Saturday, May 26th starting at 7:00 a.m. Residents are asked just one pickup load per house hold. Please have trash out in your driveway, next to the road.

ROADS:

Dust control will be on the roads before Memorial Day. The Cheboygan County Road Commission will grade the roads first.

Gravel will be spread on Munro Lake Circle. The County has cleaned up the stumps and brush along Munro Lake Drive this past week. Silver Strand Road will be getting gravel and ditching on certain areas.

OLD BUSINESS:

Earl and Debbie Marx requests a land division split on their property on Levering Road. Ginop made the motion to approve the split, supported by Tracey. All favored saying "Aye", none "Nay". Motion carried.

Tracey made the motion to adjourn the meeting, supported by Mandrick. The meeting was adjourned at 8:19 p.m.
