The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Antkoviak at 7:30 p.m. at the Munro Township Hall. Pledge to the flag was recited.

MINUTES – Mandrick made the motion to accept the August 12, 2008 meeting minutes, supported by Dotski, motion carried.

PAYMENT OF BILLS – Mandrick made the motion to pay the August bills amounting to $14,696.93, supported by Antkoviak. Motion carried.

Mr. James Keiser of Douglas Lake Road came before the board asking if anything could be done about the speeding problem on his road. Mr. Keiser is concerned that children and adults walking along the road may get killed or seriously injured because people are not obeying the 25 mph speed limit. Ginop suggested that more 25 mph signs be posted with a sign stating a 25 mph speed limit is just ahead. The problem is in Emmet County’s 55 mph going into Munro Township which is posted at 25 mph.

Keith Ginop and Neil Hill are firemen and First Responders. Keith and Neil showed the new defibulator that Munro Township purchased for the fire station. The unit comes with one chest pad; it can be used only once. A two year shelf life pad is $60.00; a five year shelf life pad is $110.00. Ginop made the suggestion to purchase an adult and child pad.

Co. Commissioner, Linda Socha, reported that the Cheboygan County Road Commission is asking for a one mill road millage on the November ballot. The Veterans Office was discussed with the County posting the position of Veterans Administrator, instead of the veteran’s board appointing Bill Wodek.

Recycling in the county is going very well. A quarterly update will be coming shortly.
