MUNRO TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
June 10, 2003

PRESENT:  Antkoviak, Ginop, Dotski, Tracey and Haig

OTHERS PRESENT:  Ron Wheelock, Richard Buehler, Paul Nows, Wil Mandrick, Jackie & Quinter Burnett

Supervisor Antkoviak called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. at the Munro Township Hall.

Pledge to the flag was recited.

Tracey made the motion to accept the May 13, 2003 minutes, supported by Dotski.  Motion carried.

CORRESPONDENCE: George Quick from Munro Lake has asked the State Tax tribunal to hear his case on his property tax assessment.

In the  June issue of Capitol Currents, Ginop reported that the Senate has approved $10 million for fire protection grants.  These funds assist townships who provide fire protection for state universities and prisons.  Antkoviak will make a call to find out about getting some money for our fire truck.

Board agreed to purchase the 5” dia. ball.

Antkoviak got his Dell computer last Friday.

Tracey made the motion to pay the monthly bills amounting to $8,827.46, supported by Dotski.  Motion carried.

Wil Mandrick asked if a NEMCOG meeting could be held at the township hall on September 5, 2003 for the Black River Watershed.  The board agreed to have the meeting at Munro Township Hall.

Paul Nows stated that Silver Strand Road was not graded before the brine was spread for dust control. Paul said the road is in terrible shape, caused by residents traveling too fast.  Antkoviak suggested looking into tar and chipping the road, cost is a little over $11,000.00 a mile.

Tracey made the motion, supported by Haig to adjourn the meeting.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
