MUNRO TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
September 14, 2004

PRESENT: Antkoviak, Ginop, Dotski, Tracey, Haig

OTHERS PRESENT: Robert Greenwood, Cheboygan County Road Commissioner, Richard Buehler, Don Rader, Walt Nows, Linda Farmer, Jackie Burnett, Quinter Burnett, Luke Houlton – Manager of the Cheboygan County Road Commission, Steve Alexander, Barb Wilkinson, Nathaniel Wilkinson, Brain Ostwald, Keith Ginop.

Supervisor Antkoviak called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. at the township hall.

Pledge to the flag was recited.

MINUTES: Tracey made a motion to accept the minutes of the August 10, 2004 meeting. Haig supported the motion. Motion carried.

Mr. Michael Sherwood of Re/Max North submitted a land division split application for Ms. Sharon Wheelock Flake. Supervisor Antkoviak had a copy of a quick claim deed signed by Ms. Flake stating that the parent property could not be split. Ginop made the motion to deny the land split until legal or a qualified opinion on this matter can be obtained. Haig supported the motion. Motion carried.

BILLS: Tracey made the motion to pay the monthly bills amounting to $3,741.40, supported by Haig. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS: Received one bid from Mike Charboneau for roofing and installing siding on the township hall. Bid will be tabled until another bid is received.

The old flag pole broke during a storm last month. Bid from Kling Welding was received. Ginop will get a few more quotes for next meeting.

NEW BUSINESS: September 30th at 6:00 p.m. at Cheboygan City Hall, there will be a Consumers Forum for electric & gas deregulations.

Mr. Bob Greenwood, Cheboygan County Road Commissioner and Mr. Luke Houlton, the new Engineer and Manager spoke to a group of residents wishing to have their roads paved.

Mrs. Barb Wilkinson wants to move forward on improving MacArthur Rd. from the end of the blacktop to the turn around. Estimate from the Cheboygan County Road Commission was over $98,000.00 for about 1 ½ miles. Mrs. Wilkinson told the board there were about 39 people that use the road, interested in paying part of the road improvement. Questions were asked why the cost was so high when Weadock Road was seal coated for $10,000.00.

Mr. Houlton is new to the job, the township board and residents will have to get back together with the Road Commission at a later date.

Tracey made the motion to adjourn the meeting, supported by Haig. The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
