Supervisor Antkoviak called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. at the township hall.
Pledge to the flag was recited.
MINUTES: Tracey made a motion to accept the September 14, 2004 minutes as presented. Dotski supported the motion. Motion carried.
BILLS: Motion by Tracey, supported by Dotski to pay the monthly bills of $3706.60.
CORRESPONDENCE: NEMCOG meeting Oct. 20, 2004 at Topinabee, Michigan.
The Cheboygan County Humane Society is asking for money for operating and maintenance. The request is tabled because the township does not know what our funds are going to be with the State cutting Revenue Sharing payments.
OLD BUSINESS: The old well at the hall is capped. The hole needs to be filled in before someone falls in on Election Day.
BIDS FOR FLAG POLE; Received 3 bids, lowest bid was for $350.00 and $350.00 to put the pole up. Antkoviak said he’d make a flag pole and put it up himself before Election Day. The township will pay for only the pipe, no labor.
BIDS FOR HALL: Prices are from 3 contractors. Ginop suggested putting on shingles instead of a metal roof. After looking at the bids, only one contractor, Mike Charboneau is insured and licensed. Shingles should be the new type, brown in color with white siding under eves and gable ends. It was suggested that the chimney should be wrapped with dark brown aluminum and capped. Ginop made motion to accept Mike Charboneau’s bid of $9,837.00 and ask for certificate of insurance and a warranty on his work. Tracey supported the motion. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS: Mike Robinson said the Cheboygan County Road Commission came and fixed his corner. The culvert was extended 8 feet.
Winter meetings starting November 9th will be held at the fire hall on the Levering Road.
Ginop made the motion to adjourn the meeting, supported by Dotski. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
