MUNRO TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
June 13, 2006
Munro Hall, 7:30 p.m.

PRESENT: Antkoviak, Ginop, Dotski, Tracey ABSENT: Mandrick

OTHERS PRESENT: Quinter and Jackie Burnett, Keith & Patricia Sipperley, Keith Ginop, Ed Ginop, Paul Nows, Walter Nows, Richard Buehler Jr., Frank Loria, Tim MacArthur.

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Antkoviak at 7:30 p.m.

Pledge to the flag was recited.

MINUTES - Tracey made the motion to accept the May 9, 2006 meeting minutes, supported by Ginop. Motion carried.

BILLS - Ginop made the motion to pay the monthly bills amounting to $10,112.27. Tracey supported the motion. Motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENTS - Richard Buehler Jr. asked about his taxes on his house. Antkoviak explained that he needs to see Linda Cronan, the County Treasurer; you can not claim a homestead exemption on business property.

CORRESPONDENCE

DEQ issued a permit to Sandra Ruffini for 5 CY rock riprap on her lakeshore property located on Douglas Lake.

Jerry Atherholt of Munro Lake asked about chloride for dust control and gravel for Munro Lake Drive. The brine has already been spread, therefore the gravel can not be spread now or the brine will be ruined. Antkoviak stated that the County Road Commission decides where and when the gravel will be placed on the roads.

The Inverness Fire Department received a new ISO rating of 7. Antkoviak stated that each homeowner should contact their insurance agent and find out if their insurance company uses the ISO rating. Some does not. Compare different insurance companies for the best rates.

OLD BUSINESS

Attorney, Tim MacArthur reviewed the final draft of the Munro Township Land Division Ordinance.

Ginop made the motion to approve the Land Division Ordinance Amendment 98-01, supported by Tracey. Roll call vote – Antkoviak - yes, Dotski - yes, Tracey yes, Ginop – Yes. Motion carried. Ginop said it would be published in Friday's Tribune if she gets it in first thing Wednesday morning and if they have room for it.

The Chastain/Loznak easement matter should be settled shortly. Tim MacArthur has sent an Affidavit of Scrivener's Error to Daniel Loznak's office for his signature. Mr. MacArthur will make sure that Loznak signs the scrivener. Antkoviak and MacArthur will meet with Brian Duvall of the Cheboygan County Planning Commission on Friday to make sure there is a 30' easement.

Tracey reported that Spray's Landscaping has not planted the trees in the cemetery yet.

NEW BUSINESS

A special election committee must appoint election inspectors for the Primary and General Elections. The meeting will be posted.

The County Clerk would like the townships to have phones installed in the township halls so the election results can be sent to the County Building on election nights. The Munro Board does not want the added expense for a phone for two nights.

Ginop made the motion to adjourn the meeting, supported by Dotski. The meeting was adjourned at 9:03 p.m.
