MUNRO TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
July 11, 2006
Munro Hall, 7:30 p.m.

PRESENT: Antkoviak, Ginop, Dotski, Tracey, Mandrick

RESIDENTS: Jackie & Quinter Burnett, Patricia & Keith Sipperley, Paul & Walter Nows, and Ed Ginop.

Supervisor Antkoviak called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The pledge to the flag was recited.

Tracey made the motion to accept the June 13, 2006 minutes, supported by Dotski. Motion carried.

BILLS: Tracey made the motion to pay the monthly bills, excluding the $378.00 for brine. The remaining bills amount to $27,572.44, supported by Mandrick. Motion carried.

CITIZENS COMMENTS

  1. Mr. Keith Sipperley stated that Tim MacArthur's Affidavit of Scrivener's Error wording for Tom & Ann Chastain's property is not correct.
  2. It will be fall before the trees for the cemetery are planted. Trees need a lot of water after they are planted and with the dry weather lately it will be better to wait till fall.
  3. Antkoviak met with Brian Duvalle and Tim MacArthur to get Tom Chastain's 30' easement matter straightened out. Antkoviak reported that the survey is correct, the wording on the survey is the same as the deed, and nothing has been recorded.

CORRESPONDANCE

  1. PIE & G is raising their electric rates.
  2. Thank you from Jerry and Lisa Atherholt on the fire department's new ISO rating of 7, Munro residents within 5 miles of the new fire hall should see a reduction in their home insurance.
  3. Matt Nestle request for an animal kennel license was approved by the County.

OLD BUSINESS

The Land Division Ordinance was published in the Cheboygan Daily Tribune; the Ordinance will be put on Munro's web site.

NEW BUSINESS

Ginop received a Polling Place Accessibility Checklist from the State of Michigan for the township hall. Ginop reported that a new door knob for the back door should be purchased for disabled voters. A ramp needs to be installed at the back door for wheel chair accessibility and a fence should be installed in the disabled parking area behind the hall.

Mandrick made the motion to have Ginop get two quotes for fences, Antkoviak purchase a lever door opener and also check on a ramp for the door. Tracey supported the motion.

Dotski reported that her old computer is six years old and she is having problems with her software program. She already had someone fix her computer twice. Mandrick made a motion to have Matt Ginop get the best price and order a computer for Dotski. Tracey supported the motion. Motion carried.

Mandrick went down to the township park on Douglas Lake and took pictures of the camp fires people made. The Biological Station wants no camp fires on their property. Antkoviak stated that Charles Beckwith from the Cheboygan County Sheriff's Department will patrol the park.

Antkoviak stated that a July Board of Review will be held at his home Tuesday, July 18th at 7:30 p.m. Ginop will publish the notice in the Tribune.

Walter Nows asked how the ISO rating and the 911 boundaries for the fire departments will be changed. Ginop said the ISO rating will go into effect August 1st and the Pellston and Inverness Fire Departments will be working with 911 to change the fire department boundaries.

Tracey made the motion to adjourn the meeting, supported by Dotski. The Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
